7 ways to reverse grey hair

  1. Indian gooseberry or As Known as Amla 

Known for its astringent properties, amla has been used all over the world for centuries. It is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants which can help your pigmentation cell recover and it will not only make your hair blacker but also shiner and healthier. 

How to Use: Break the amla into half and deseed it. Make the paste out of the fruit and apply it directly to your scalp and hair roots. You can also include amla juice in your diet for an extra boost to your immune system.

  1. Lemon Juice and Coconut Oil 

Coconut oil can be used for improving the health of your scalp and a good massage with lukewarm coconut oil will help you get rid of grey hair as well as improve blood flow in the scalp. Coconut oil is a rich source of biotin, which can help in maintaining the moisture of the scalp and premature greying. Whereas lemon juice acts as an oxidizing agent, which together with coconut oil helps in sebum build-up.

How to Use: Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix thoroughly and massage your scalp and hair with the mixture.

Curry leaves not only help in strengthening your hair root but could also help with premature grey hair. You can make curry leave oil mixed with coconut oil and massage your scalp and hair at least twice a week. Curry leaves are a rich source of melanin and can help increase the production of melanin naturally. 

How to Use: Boil the handful of curry leaves in a half cup coconut oil until the oil turns black. Strain and massage the mixture onto your hair. Leave it for about one hour or overnight before washing it with a mild shampoo and conditioner.  

  1. Brewed Coffee and Tea Leave

Another natural way to deal with prematurely grey hair is washing your hair with a concoction made from brewing tea leaves or coffee.  

How to Use: All you need to do is add tea or coffee in two cups of water and let it brew on low flame for 10 minutes. For black dyeing, you can wash your hair with the tea concoction and for brown shade, you can wash your hair with coffee.

A rich source of antioxidants, black sesame seed can help your body fight free radicals who are also responsible for your body’s weak immune system and low melanin production rate.  

How to Use: You can eat a handful of seeds every day with water on an empty stomach.

One of the trends that have become a craze in recent years is onion juice. Mixing onion juice with coconut oils, hibiscus flower and curry leaves concoction and applying it twice a week would not only help in reducing hair fall but also premature grey hair. You can also apply the juice directly to your hair and roots

How to Use: Apply the juice on roots and hair and wash it after an hour. Over time you'll see less grey hair.  

  1. Shikakai 

A viable home remedy for treating premature grey hair. This herb has been used for centuries as a natural dye. Shikakai helps in fighting dead hair cells and reduces grey hair with regular application.  

How to Use: Soak shikakai in water in an iron vessel and leave overnight. The next morning, heat the concoction and wash your hair with the mixture. Do not shampoo your hair the same day. Let the mixture sit in for 24 hours and then wash with a mild shampoo followed by a conditioner.
